Josefa Y. Lara, 66, of 659
Chaparral St. In Uvalde died Nov. 13, 1997, at her residence.
Lara was born Jan. 11, 1931, in
Sabinal. She married Richard C. Lara on Nov. 27, 1949, in
Uvalde. She was preceded
in death by her parents, Ysa and Luisa Ybarra: and one sister.
Lara is survived by her husband;
four daughters, Cecilia Jordan and husband, Michael, of
Jackson, Miss., and Lupe Zava and husband, Valente, Liza Ovalle
and husband, Joe, and Zulema Porras and husband, Sergio, all of
Uvalde; one son, Richard Lara Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; four
brothers and five sisters; 10 grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was said Friday at 7 p.m.
in the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel.
Services were held yesterday at 10
a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ken Dakin
officiating. Internment
was in Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Valente Zavala,
Sergio Porras Sr., Joe Ovalle, Michael Jordan, Sergio Porras
Jr., Eusebio Suarez Jr., Mario Gonzales and Gus Estrada.
Honorary pallbearers were Marco
Aviles, John Paul Reyes, Jacob Reyes, Roland Montes, Gene
Montes Jr. and Homer Montes.
"God looked around the garden and
saw an empty place. He then looked down from heaven and saw
your tired face. He saw you were suffering and a cure was not
to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered 'Come to
me.' With tearful eyes we watched as you slowly passed away,
and though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay." |

Michael David Hatcher Jr.
Taylorsville, MS
Michael David Hatcher, Jr., 21,
a computer tech, died Sunday, August 29, 2004, in Madison
County. Services are 2 p.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral
Home in Magee with burial in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
in Magee.
He was born December 13, 1982 to Michael David Hatcher and
Sherri Sellers Hatcher.
Michael's talents were numerous and the joy that he brought
into the lives of those who knew him was immense. His greatest
asset was his capacity to love and his ability to experience
life completely. He was quick to smile and even faster to help;
his intelligence and kindness made an impression on all those
who knew him. He loved his family deeply, and his devotion to
his daughter was touching. The void he has left is vast and
painful. But, even in this present darkness, his family wishes
to celebrate his life and to express their gratitude for having
been able to have the experience that was, and still is,
Michael.
Survivors include: wife, Celeste Coleman Hatcher; daughter,
Alyssa Grace Hatcher of Taylorsville; his parents, Michael
David Hatcher of Gulfshores, Ala. and his mother, Sherri
Sellers Hatcher of Magee; brother, Christopher and Ann Louise
Eubanks of Fayetteville, Ark; sister, Annabeth Hatcher of
Magee; grandmothers, Pauline Sellers of Laurel and Callie
Hatcher of Pearl. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.

Mrs. Ellen
Eloise Turner, 79, of Taylorsville, died Aug. 16, 1995, at
Covington County Hospital, Collins.
A Native of
Taylorsville, Mrs. Turner was a homemaker.
Survivors
include a son, Joe Turner of Colorado; two daughters, Lorraine
Blakeney of Mize and Virginia Coleman of Taylorsville; 12
grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
The funeral
was held Aug. 18, 1995 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with
burial in Fellowship Cemetery.

Alan J. Tanner
Pearl
Alan J. Tanner, 44, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Rankin
Medical Center in Brandon. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at
Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at
the funeral home with burial in Fairmont-Waco Cemetery in Mize.
Mr. Tanner was a member of Oakview Baptist Church in Byram and
owned and operated A.J. Towing and Recovery. He coached baseball
and enjoyed building and restoring automobiles, particularly race
cars.
Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by his father, Bill Ray Tanner.
Survivors include his mother Scharlene Tanner, son Cody Tanner,
daughter Kristina Tanner, sisters Treaba Robinson and Theada
Nelson, all of Pearl; granddaughter Layla Netterville, and a host
of nieces and nephews.

Magee
Anthony Fox, 24, an auto
repairman, died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle
accident Friday, September 30, 2005, at Highway 28 and
Sanatorium Road in Magee. Services are 3 p.m. today at
Corinth Baptist Church in Magee with burial in Corinth
Cemetery. The body will lie in state at church beginning at
1 p.m. Tutor Funeral Home of Magee is handling
arrangements.

Mrs. Annie Gray, 79-year-old
Taylorsville resident, died Jan. 27, 1971, at Smith County
Hospital, Raleigh, after a short illness.
Funeral services were conducted
Thursday at 2 p.m. from Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev.
Billy Ballard officiating.
The Wayne County native was
born May 21, 1891. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist
Church.
Smith County Chapel was in
charge of arrangements, and interment was at Fellowship
Cemetery.
She is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Eloise Turner, Taylorsville; one son, Allen
Gray, Taylorsville; four grand-children; and eight great
grand-children |

Blakeney Funeral
services for Lorraine Blakeney, 64, of Mize, MS, were held
Sunday, February 3, 2002. Services were held at 3:30 p.m. at
Mims Mitchell Funeral home with burial at Providence Baptist
Church cemetery, Mize, MS.
Mrs. Blakeney passed away
February 1, 2002, at her residence. She was a tester and a
Baptist by faith.
Survivors are her son, Rusty
Chambers of Mize, MS; two daughters, Kathy Barley of
Taylorsville, MS, and Terry Clark of Mt. Olive, MS; father,
Charles Dowd; mother, Eloise Gray Turner; one brother, Joseph
J. Turner of Peyton, Colorado; one sister, Virginia Ginny
Coleman of Taylorsville, MS; eight grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
Mrs Blakeney was preceded in
death by her husband, Claude Hillard Blakeney.

Turner Joseph J.
Turner, 67, of Rt. 1, Taylorsville died at the Forrest General
Hospital in Hattiesburg Aug. 21, 1975.
He was a resident of Smith
County, a Georgia native and a member of the Taylorsville
United Methodist Church. He had lived in Taylorsville for the
past 35 years and was employed by the T. H. Luckey Company and
the Taylorsville Lumber Company for much of this period.
Funeral services were held at
the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville Saturday, Aug.
23 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joyner and the Rev. L. C. Laird
officiating. Interment followed in the Fellowship Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Eloise Turner of Taylorsville; two sons, Joe Turner of
Colorado Springs, Colo., and Richard Turner of Meridian, Miss.;
two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Blakeney of Rt. 1, Mize and Mrs.
Virginia Jordan of Jackson.
Other survivors include a
brother, Lucius Turner of Juniper, Ga. He also is survived by
ten grandchildren.
